Moonshadow

In the summer of 1999 MoonShadow cruised the Atlantic coast of Nova Scotia and the Southwestern Shore of Newfoundland. These photos form a sort of pictorial log of the trip starting at Shelburne, N.S. and ending at our turnaround point at the Grey River in Newfoundland. This trip was the culmination of a long standing dream and we hope you enjoy the images.

The photos were all taken with an Epson 700 digital camera and while all were given minor color corrections (I hope they look OK on your screen) only one has been edited to any extent. I confess I changed one sky. Can you spot the photo? :-) They have been put on the site as 8" by 10" sheets at 200 dpi. You will appreciate the thumbnails Jeff Morris has made for them.

MoonShadow is a 41' Gulfstar Auxiliary Ketch fitted out for coastal and semi-offshore passages. She was built in 1976 and has served as our home for the last 5 years.

Myself, my wife Carolyn, and our two cats Topsider and Spinnaker would like to thank all the people who gave us so much help and kindness along the way. They were the highlight of the trip. Should you voyage to this wonderful coast you will meet them all!

Special thanks to Dave Julian, Pam Alexander and Brooke Davis who each joined us for segments of the trip. They helped with the boat, brought fresh perspectives to the cruise, and helped us to see what was there.

Many thanks to Jeff Morris owner/master of SV-Loki.com for space on his site and all the work he put into posting these pictures! Don't you love his new catamaran!
